Delhi: DDA to offer 13,000 Flats, Cheaper than Market Price

The DDA has announced to offer 13,000 flats to the general public. The allotment will be announced soon after ministry's approval.

Looking to reside in Delhi? Worry no more. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) announced to offer 13,000 flats at affordable rates on a first come first serve basis. For the Special Housing Scheme 2021, the draw of lots took place a few weeks ago, and there were only 5,227 applications for 18,335 flats.

Proposal sent to the ministry

A senior DDA official said, "We have placed a proposal in the ministry, once approved, these flats would be sold on a first-come, first-served basis using online platforms."

As per the sources, these flats belong to the previous housing scheme so the agency would need to get permission from the ministry to sell these flats. In this reference, DDA Commissioner (Housing) V S Yadav said that if the agency gets the permission and it becomes a part of the policy. The agency would be able to put the houses on a first-come, first-served basis after conducting a draw of lots.
