Cyclone Yaas impacting Lucknow with strong winds

After Odisha and West Bengal the impact of Cyclone Yaas can be seen in Lucknow, UP.

Weather conditions have been changed in Odisha and West Bengal due to the impact of cyclone Yaas. The effect of Cyclone Yaas is visible in many districts of the state, including Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow (Lucknow), since Thursday evening. In many districts, the mood of the weather has been changed since morning. Lucknow is cloudy and there is drizzle and light rain at many places. 

Meteorologists claim that Yaas storm will have a wide impact in Purvanchal. Meteorologist Kailash Pandey says that “up to eight o'clock on Thursday night, 20 mm of rain has been received in the last 24 hours.”

State Meteorological director J P Gupta said, “The severe cyclonic storm Yaas has weakened into cyclonic storm and is expected to weaken gradually into a deep depression by Thursday morning. Under its influence rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in some areas of east and northeast UP, while the impact will be limited in western part of the state.”

Areas impacted

Since Friday morning, it has been raining in Lucknow, Barabanki, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Mathura, Pratapgarh, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Hamirpur, Prayagraj, Kasganj and Basti. It is raining in many districts, and intermittent rains continue in many districts. The weather has become pleasant and the temperature has cooled down due to rain.
