India registered 42,982 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per health ministry data. The Delhi High Court said "the target set to vaccinate the entire adult population by December 31 was unlikely to be met."
Kolkata government has announced, "passengers from all other States, except Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai, shall produce at the time of boarding either proof of full vaccination or RT-PCR negative test report for the test conducted within 72hrs of such flight departure."
The Division Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh said, "God knows whether we will achieve our target of December 31 that we have set. Looks like we are not. Just yesterday, it was in the press that we need to vaccinate 90 lakh people a day to be able to achieve that. How will we achieve that? We don’t have that kind of infrastructure. We don’t have that kind of vaccination. So obviously we are not going to meet it. Let’s face it."
Apart from this, Kerala reports 22.4k fresh cases, Maharashtra reports 6.13k fresh cases, Andhra Pradesh reports 2.4k fresh cases. The active caseload in the country currently stands at 4,11,076, while 41,726 patients recovered.
