Due to Covid-19, this time Republic Day will not be the same. A lot does not seem to be happening, the same way as before. On January 26, the Republic Day, the general public below 15 years of age and above 65 years will not be allowed to attend the Parade. This information was given by tweet on behalf of Dr. Ish Singhal, spokesperson of Delhi Police.
It has also been informed by the police that the entry will be given only by invitation card or ticket.
Delhi Government has advised that people who do not have tickets or invitation cards, can stay at home and watch the entire broadcast. The Delhi Police tweeted that, this time only four thousand tickets of the parade will be sold to the general public. This decision was taken due to the Farmer's movement and Covid-19. Apart from this, know what else is going to happen on the occasion of Republic Day and what not :
- Earlier the length of the parade was 8.2 km, which went through Vijay Chowk to the Red Fort. This time but it will be only 3.3 kilometers long from Vijay Chowk to National Stadium.
- Not only this, the squads that participate in the 26 January parade will also be small. Which was always 144, this year will be 96. Apart from this, school children above 15 years of age, only, will be involved in this.
- This will be the first time that on the special occasion of Republic Day, the head of another country will not be included as the chief guest. Actually the first British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was to be the chief guest of the Republic Day celebrations. But in view of the situation arising due to the arrival of a new type of Corona in Britain, British PM had canceled his tour of India.
- Flight Lieutenant Bhawana Kant, one of the first women fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force, will be part of the tableau of the Indian Air Force in the Parade. She is going to be the first female fighter pilot to participate in this parade.
- The Rafale fighter aircraft will be included in India's Republic Day parade on 26 January and the flypast will conclude by flying in the vertical Charlie Formation of the aircraft.
- The number of entry and exit gates will be increased. Apart from this, Covid booths will also be built in which doctors and para medical staff will be present. Thermal screening is being prepared at every gate. Place-2 hand sanitizers will also be kept.
