Covid Updates: Delhi reports 12,527 fresh cases, Positivity Rate reaches 27.99%

Delhi has reported 12,527 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate in the city stands at 27.99%.

On Monday, Delhi has reported 12,527 fresh Covid cases and 24 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry. With fresh cases the positivity rate in the city stands at 27.99%. In a release, the Delhi government has stated that 2,684 Covid patients are now admitted in hospitals across the state. Out of them, 909 are on oxygen support and 833 are in the ICU.

A total of 44,762 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. As many as 18,340 patients have been discharged from hospitals or recovered or have migrated.

“Yesterday was Sunday so that could also be a factor, but the cases are going to be fewer today following the declining trend. There will be 4,000-5,000 cases fewer than yesterday. The cases are definitely reducing for four days now and the advance indicator for the peak was that the hospitalizations were not going up,” said Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain. 

Restrictions in Delhi

After the huge jump in Corona cases, many restrictions were imposed in Delhi, which are continuing till now. These restrictions include weekend and night curfew, only 20 people allowed in wedding ceremonies, closure of all restaurants and bars and so on. As now the cases of corona are decreasing continuously, in such a situation, the Delhi government can also consider reducing the restrictions.
