Cops arrested the crook who stole 5000 cars

Anil Chauhan is 52 years old and an auto driver by profession. He had started stealing in 1998 since when he had stolen around 5000 cars across the country.

Finally after a lot of efforts Delhi Police achieved success in catching India's biggest car thief" Anil Chauhan. The accused was shockingly recovered with six country-made pistols and seven live cartridges. He also had one stolen motorcycle, and one stolen car.

 

Anil Chauhan is 52 years old and an auto driver by profession. He had started stealing in 1998 since when he had stolen around 5000 cars across the country. Being the leader of the car thief gang, more than 180 has been registered against him meanwhile he got arrested.

 

Anil Chauhan belongs to Tejpur located in Assam which is one of north-eastern states of India. He is a resident of Khanpur extension. But his tales of theft could be found all over the country.

It is not the first time that Anil is behind the bars. The cops had arrested him several times in the past. He was once sentenced a five years of imprisonment in the Nizamuddin Police Station.

Anil Chauhan was a Class-I contractor working in the Assam government. His place was raided by Enforcement Directorate which then seized all his properties which were then auctioned by the bank later.

 

But the criminal again started stealing. He was also found guilty in the smuggling of Rhinoceros horn in the northeastern part of India.

Assam Police had once arrested Anil Chauhan in 2015. In one sitting with MLA, police said “The accused, who is perhaps “India’s biggest car thief”, had three wives and seven children”.
