Constable and Home Guard got suspended after stealing mobile phone while patrolling

A constable belonging to Uttar Pradesh police was spotted shamelessly stealing a mobile phone from a man sleeping on the footpath. The shocking incident took place in Kanpur this Saturday night.

Law and order are established to safeguard individual rights and to provide justice. The Police Department is set up in order to protect the people along with law and order. It would be shameful to find a cop who was supposed to send the thieves behind bars turns into a thief himself.

Such a shocking incident took place at Chhatmara intersection in Kanpurs Maharajpur area. A Police Constable who was patrolling in this area took an opportunity to steal in the road that was deserted in the night. Nitin Singh was sleeping peacefully in the veranda of his small shop. At this time the constable along with a home guard stole the mobile phone of Singh and ran away.

First the entire incident got captured in a CCTV camera that was installed in that area. The footage went viral over social media. The culprit constable and home guard was identified as Taipat Pragesh Singh and Laik Singh respectively in Maharajpur police station. Both the accused were reportedly assigned at Chhatmara intersection of Kanpur.

Additional SP Outer of Maharajpur police station Vijendra Dwivedi investigated the case after receiving an FIR from victim Nitin Singh. The SP mentioned that both the accused home guard and constable have been already suspended for their theft. The video that got captured in the CCTV acts as an effective evidence of their crime. He has also promised to carry out further detailed investigation.
