BCCI declares Indian Squad for T20 matches against South Africa and Australia

Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) has declared South Africa and Australia as India’s opponents in the upcoming matches of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Recently speed bowlers Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar returned to the team for this matche

Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) has declared South Africa and Australia as India’s opponents in the upcoming matches of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Recently speed bowlers Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar returned to the team for this matches. India is supposed to play three matches each with South Africa and Australia. The match would take place within India.

Despite of returning to the team Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar were kept devoid of joining the main squad. Arshdeep Singh would stay out of the team in India Vs Australia match. Also Hardik Pandya will not play in India Vs South Africa match. According to BCCI Hardik Pandya, Bhubaneswar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh would do conditioning related work in the home chain during the matches and report to NCCI. Due to this each one has got a rest from one match of the series.

Indian team for Australia and South Africa series comprises Rohit Sharma (Captain), K.L. Rahul (Vice captain), Surya Kumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Kartik(Wicket keeper), Rishav Panth (Wicket keeper), R. Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Yujvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Bhubaneswar Kumar, Deepak Hudda, Harsh Patel, Deepak Chahar, Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.

The matches of India vs Australia are scheduled in the following manner:

First T20      - September 20 (Mohali)

Second T20 - September 23 (Nagpur)

Third T20     - September 25 (Hyderabad)

After completion of India vs Australia matches India vs South Africa matches are scheduled in the following manner:

First T20      - September 28 (Thiruvanathapuram)

Second T20 - October 2 (Guwahati) 

Third T20     - October 4 (Indore)

After the end of this matches India would also play three one day matches against South Africa as per the sources. The players who are going to be a part of Indian team in the following matches are yet to be decide.
