Bagdogra Airport to stay closed for 15 days in April, Travelers need to plan accordingly

The airport authorities of Bagdogra airport have notified to shut down the operations for 15 days in April. Read further to know about the other alternative to travel.

In the month of April, the Bagdogra Airport will remain closed for 15 days. As per the reports, flight operations from Bagdogra airport will remain affected. Bagdogra airport provides connectivity to the hill stations of Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirik, and other sections of North Bengal, with thousands of tourists traveling through each year.

In this reference, Bagdogra Airport authorities shared the information via their Twitter handle. The authorities wrote, "Bagdogra Airport will be closed for operations from 11 Apr 22 to 25 Apr 22 due to resurfacing work of final layer of the flexible portion of Runway. @AAI_Official @aairhqer"


This is the second time in seven days that the Bagdogra airport operations have been shut down as a crack was spotted on the runway recently. Airport officials stated that all flights were canceled when the air traffic control operated by Indian Air Force detected a problem with the runway, as reported by The Times of India.
