On Monday, Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced to reopen the country's borders for fully vaccinated tourists from February 21. The Australian borders will be reopened for international tourists after almost two years which were shut down due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
Morrison told reporters, "It's almost two years since we took the decision to close the borders to Australia. Australia will reopen our borders to all remaining visa holders on the 21st of February of this year. The condition is you must be double vaccinated to come to Australia. That’s the rule. Everyone is expected to abide by it."
To fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the country had implemented strict measures. Australian citizens were not allowed to leave the country last year.
However, parts of Australia still have some tight measures in place. Non-residents are still not permitted to enter into Western Australia. Australians from other states are also not allowed to enter unless they have permission.
