Here’s why the Mallik brothers Armaan and Amaal are breaking the internet today

Musicians Armaan Malik and Amaal Mallik have been ruling the internet for different reasons find out…

Singer Armaan Malik and his brother singer-composer Amaal Mallik have been in the limelight lately. And while both the brothers have ruled many hearts with their music, recently, the two were also ruling over the internet for different reasons. While Armaan grabbed attention for his statement about the pandemic, Amaal had to bear the brunt of the netizens over his statement of like Shah Rukh Khan more than Salman Khan. Amaal who has always proven to be a pro with his music is also equally sharp at mind and he never steps back from speaking his mind.

Recently also the singer-composer did the same, on Twitter, Amaal made a statement about liking SRK more than Salman, after which Salman’s fans pounced over Amaal and it all led to a verbal spat over social media. While Amaal was being heavily trolled, SRK fans jumped in to support the musician and started trending #IStandWithAmaal on the micro-blogging site. In his tweet, that stirred all of this Amaal wrote, “Aaj duniya ko dikh gaya what is the aukaad of these uneducated #Bhaitards. It all started with me saying #Srk is my fav actor, and these idiots went crazy. I respect #SalmanKhan for the launch he gave me, but that doesn’t mean I will take shit from his fans or any one.”

While things got worse when abuses were hurled both ways, but Amaal chose to stick to his stand and also stated that his account has not been hacked. Well looks like what angered Amaal were some murder and rape threats towards his fans and family, on just expressing his choice of a favourite actor.

Though it’s unclear how it all started since a lot of tweets were deleted, check out the other tweets here to know what happened:

Later on SRK fans also joined in the debate and stood by Amaal. One of the users wrote, “Amaal Mallik chose SRK as his favourite actor but didn't disrespect Salman. Bhaitards got offended and dragged him. Whatever he did was much needed and indeed justifying. As an SRKian, I Stand with another SRKian. #IStandWithAmaal." Another one said, “He praised Salman too but Bhaitards couldn't digest that SRK comes first for him. Insecurity ki hdd hoti hai.#IStandWithAmaal”

While Amaal created a stir on the internet for some negative reasons, his brother Armaan also grabbed a lot of people’s attention when he said in the COVID era internet has become an important market place for musicians. In the pandemic, two of Armaan’s life gigs had to be cancelled and pointing out to the fact that many musicians also moved to having concerts in the virtual space. Sharing how concerts were important to fuel his business, he added that this has been massively hit by the pandemic.

“The live business has taken a massive hit. Artistes, organisers, promoters, musicians, technicians - so many of them don't know when they will be able to do an event or earn anything. It was their main source of income, for me, too, concerts were the main thing that used to fuel my business. I had two major college festival gigs that got cancelled. But it's more important to be safe and I wouldn't do a show until we know Covid-19 is on its way out. I've done selective digital concerts during this time and even though virtual performances are the only readily available alternative at the moment, they don't feel as good as an actual live performance. For musicians, it has become imperative to be active and engaging with their audiences on various different social platforms. Anyone who doesn't embrace the digital age could be left back. For people who belong to the old-school of thought, this might be a scary change, but you have to accept the change to move forward," Armaan told a newswire.

Here’s how Armaan has been active on Social media:

Sharing his thoughts on the current scenario put the singer in top trends on Google. While both the Mallik brothers took the internet by storm sharing their opinions, we will have to see how do they sustain this. Stay tuned!
