Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' receives Controversy before Release

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to release on February 25. Ahead of the release the film is receiving controversy.

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to release on February 25. Controversy queen Kangana Ranaut has vented outrage in her Instagram post after seeing the viral video of the little girl playing as Alia Bhatt in Alia Bhatt's upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. In the post, she said that the character performed by Alia Bhatt was completely immoral.

She has lashed out at Alia Bhatt and the producer-directors of the upcoming film for choosing a girl for this character. She has also tagged the Union Minister Smriti Irani, responsible for the development of women and girls, in her Instagram post.

She also asked further questions in the post that "Should this child imitate a sex worker with a beedi in her mouth and mouth crude and obscene dialogues?

Another Controversy

In March 2021, Baburaoji Shah, alleged Gangubai Kathiawadi’s adoptive son filed a defamation case against the film makers and said, "My mother was made a prostitute in the film. Now people are talking about her in different ways. These things are causing a lot of stress in our family."

As per a report by ABP, Baburaoji Shah’s lawyer Narendra Dubey said, "the portrayal of Gangubai in the film is absolutely inappropriate. She was a social worker who tried to improve people’s lives. This is the reason why we had to knock the doors of the court on behalf of Gangubai’s adopted son Baburaoji Shah. We have filed a defamation suit against the makers and others associated with it."
