After Fuel and Cylinder, Detergent and Soap prices set to hike

The prices of everyday necessities are getting high day by day. After petrol-diesel, edible oil, milk, bread, now soaps and detergents prices have also increased. The country's largest Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) giant, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has increased the price of wheel powder by up to 3.5%. The price of Lux soap has also been increased by 8% to 12%. 

In the detergent category, after the hike by HUL on Wheel powder, the 500-gram packet will cost Rs 29, which was earlier priced at Rs 28. The one kilogram packet will cost consumers Rs 58, which was earlier priced at Rs 56-57.

The prices are hiked in the company’s Rin detergent powder also. For one kilogram packet consumers will now have to pay Rs 82, which was earlier priced at Rs 77. The overall hike for Rin detergent is estimated to be around 6-8%. The price of high-end HUL products like Surf Excel also rose by Rs.14 for the one-kilogram packet. Price for soap bars like Lux and Lifebuoy also hiked by 8-12%. 

According to experts, other FMCG companies can also increase the prices of their products. Because after the corona havoc, the cost is increasing rapidly. From palm oil to oil prices are continuously at record highs. That is why other companies are also now thinking of increasing the price.
