7 injured in twin blasts in Jammu amidst Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Twin blasts took place in Narwal area of Jammu city on Saturday. It is to be noted that both the blasts took place in a gap of nearly a few minutes.

The blast took place near the bus yard of Transport Nagar in Narwal, sources stated that the first blast happened in a Bolero pick-up vehicle that was parked for repairing and mechanics were working on it when the blast happened it injured the people working on it as well as those standing nearby. The next blast took place in a vehicle parked outside a scrap dealer’s shop for the past few days. The second explosion is believed to be more powerful than the first.

Jammu and Kashmir’s lieutenant Governer Manoj Sinha stated that necessary security arrangements have been made for the Bharat Jodo Yatra’s march in Jammu and Kashmir. The march will come to a close on January 30th.

The injured were taken to the hospital and a senior doctor at Government medical college and hospital said, “Seven injured in the blasts are being treated at the hospital. Surgery was performed on one of them, who suffered splinter injuries in his stomach and his condition was critical. He is identified as Arjun Kumar, 28, of Qasim Nagar”.

After the blasts forensic teams have collected evidence from the site of blasts, CCTV footages were also collected from nearby shops by the police to find clues. 

Jammu’s Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria stated that there could be a militancy angle as well, Republic Day is approaching and Bharat Jodo Yatra is also going on therefore the blasts could be a way to defame J&K so that militancy can get revived.
