On Friday, in Delhi, the winners of the 68th National Film Awards for movies released in 2020 were declared. The Directorate of Film Festivals established this award in 1954. Tamil film Soorarai Pottru wins the biggest award of the night with Best Actor for Suriya, Best Actress for Aparrna Balamurali, and Best Film. Suriya got honored with the Best Actor award for Soorarai Pottru and Ajay Devgn won the best actor award for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
On Friday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur shared about the awards. As quoted by ANI, he said, "I want to congratulate all the jury members and all those people whose work was reviewed and would like to congratulate those recipients who will be awarded the National Film Awards. A word of appreciation for everyone who has done an outstanding job. I am glad that this year we will be holding the 68 National Film Awards since we could not hold the awards for two years because of Covid."
